I am an independent scholar of nineteenth-century British literature and scholarship, with particular interests in poetry linguistics. My dissertation, currently being revised for publication, placed Tennyson’s style in the context of Victorian philology and Anglo-Saxonism.
My research is grounded in archival and bibliographical work. My recent monograph for the Tennyson Society, for example, uses my original transcription of a handwritten glossary – the first to be made – to reconstruct the poet’s reading during his formative years at Cambridge.
